Advanced ECG course

ECGDescription:

This 2-days Course prepares the participant to learn ECG interpretation. Participants are provided with all printed materials needed to provide highly quality ECG education program. The 17 contact hours of lectures, discussion, and group activities includes: basic anatomy and physiology as well as underlying pathophysiology as it relates to ECG rhythm recognition.  Special emphasis will be placed on providing the participants with the skills needed to differentiate between benign and life-threatening rhythms, abnormal ECG, STEMI, and ECG at different ages.

Objectives: 

  • The normal ECG:
    • General considerations
    • The electric activity
    • Vector reflection of the electrical forces of the heart
    • The leads of the electrocardiogram
    • Electrical axis
    • Analysis of the different elements in the electrocardiogram
    • Range of normality of ECG
    • The ECG in different ages.
      • The foetus
      • The neonate
      • The elderly
      • The abnormal ECG
        • ECG changes in cardiac hypertrophic.
        • ECG abnormalities in coronary disease.
        • ECG abnormalities in disorders of conduction and activation.
        • ECG abnormalities of origins.

Target Audience

  • For a variety of healthcare providers, including physicians, residents, nurses in specialized units like (ER, OR, ICU, CCU), paramedics, respiratory therapists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical pharmacists and ECG technicians.
